What a difference a year makes!!

Yesterday we has a Hawaiian Luau in Kemmerer with some friends. We had Jill & Josie Allen and Nick & Audrey Baird and their lovely kids over! We had Hawaiian Hapa pulled pork, sweet onion cornbread and spicy chilli beans...and of course PUMPKIN SHAKES!!! Yummy!

Well, it's Halloween and Eric and I can't wait to pass out candy to all the little Kemmerer kids! We will don our gay apparel and be Batman and Robin, again! We are expecting a lot of our friends to come by with their kids. We will take lots of pictures and post them (do any of you still have faith in us actually posting these pictures?).

Eric recently told me the saddest story about his Halloween last year. He was so lonely and excited for kids to come that he bought bags and bags of candy and a large Cauldron to put it in. With gleeful anticipation, he switched his front porch light on for the first time since he moved into the townhouse...hours went by and no kids came. He just sat and watched T.V. and cried (o.k., he didn't actually shed tears, but...for dramatic effect...you get the point). So, I have made it a point to celebrate to the fullest extent this year.

What a difference a year makes (for us both!)!!!!

Life at the plant!

Well, it was my first day working at the plant in Kemmerer...everyone was SO NICE!!! It was hard getting up at six in the morning...but being able to get off at 3:30 is quite nice, indeed! We had a fun weekend going to the famous Halloween party in Evanston. Eric and I went as Batman and Robin (respectively). We went with Eric's brother and wife (Geoff and Jody) and they went as the Hulk and Supergirl. We were definitely a better fantastic four!!! I will add pictures soon! I am looking forward to handing out candy dressed as Batman and Robin. Life in Kemmerer is definitely improving as we get settled in and get to know the amazing ward! Tune in next time!

Day one of our new blog

Well, I never thought I would have a blog...but I never thought I would write group emails or live in Wyoming for that matter! Oh the places your life takes you!
Well, last night Eric and I participated in the first anual Couples Carving Competition and I am proud to say that we came in third place...and the other two contestants (the only other contestants) really deserved first and second! We will add the picture tonight to our blog.
Earlier in the week we also went to Laggoon (a theme park) for FrightMares. It was so fun. We went with Becky (Eric's Cousin) and her new husband Brandon as well as Jason (also Eric's cousin) and his beautiful wife Meradith.
Jason, Brandon and I went on this ride where they strap you in and lift you several hundred feet above the ground. The plan was set we would each be assigned a number and when, "one" was said, the appointed person would release the pull cord. Brandon was the cord puller as well as three, Jason was two and I was one...one was never spoken and eager beaver Brandon pulled the cord. Well, good for him because I'm not sure I would have ever said one.
Eric and I are excited for the upcomming holidays! We are still working hard on our Batman and Robin costumes!
That's all for now. I hope all is well with those we love!
