Captain Chipmunk and Fathers' Day

Who is the greatest romancer the world's ever seen?
Who sweeps the girls off their feet and makes them all scream?
Who is the suavest, most dashing man the world's ever seen?
Captain Chipmunk is my name,
And I am supreme!
I am the best, No one can compare!
When I kiss a girl, She could lose her hair!
(That's my favorite line)

This was Max's obsession for a while...recently it's been Scrat from the Ice Ages and before that it was Jimmy Neutron.  You gotta love this kid!!!

This is long overdue...these are some pics from Fathers' Day. Look at that face, this is the face of a boy who LOVES his dad!

Pics of Fathers' Day morning...and some of the gifts we gave him...This chalk board...if you can't read it, it says 'Daddy, we love you because you do the Von Eric Claw!' and Max's is demonstrating it. We also gave him a superhero book as well as a Flatenme Superhero book that I'll add some pic of later.

Dressed up as Hogarth from Iron Giant.

Sisters (Lia and Kiri) being entertained by their 哥哥

Kiri has discovered raspberries, much to her own delight!
Lia has just become such a happy little girl, so quick to laugh and show off those dimples!
I love that Lia is in the background with her big toe in her mouth! She's got big toe 功夫!
Some outtakes from Fathers' Day. We are so lucky to have you as the dad, husband, friend, priesthood holder and unequivocal resource on superhero facts!!! Thanks for being so wonderful! We love you, Eric!

Fourth of July!

Max and the girls all dressed up for the Fourth of July...

We were particularly proud of this moment because two years ago on this very ride they had to stop the train in shame and we had to take Max off of the ride.

They played on a basketball team...represent!

Brooke is seriously so great with the girls! Brooke, Lia, Na-na, Kiri and Julie

The three of them were so cute in the bouncy house!

Max was in heaven!

MMMM...mango!

 I love their socks...thanks, Aunt Camille...they were a hit!

Another great fourth of July!

Like a rhinestone cowboy!!!

We went to a surprise party...
We went down to Provo on our first alone date since the girls were born to attend Eric's cousin's birthday party. It had a rodeo theme.
They posted this picture on facebook...'Cousin Love!'

It was so much fun! Jason was so surprised...thanks to the hard work of his stellar wife who just had their 3rd child weeks before!
and it was so much fun seeing friends and family.

Surprisingly, I felt much more comfortable dressed as a cowgirl in Utah than I did walking to the car driving from Wyoming.
I may be Chinese and from California...but I held my own...
Becky...you look great!...and Brandon did Park City proud!

Eric looked pretty legit...too legit to quit!
He actually was a rhinestone cowboy! The Carliles...they're so much fun. Sad, we didn't get a picture of the Fullmers...thanks, for the Bieber poster...it's hung above my bed!
Nevermind, I found one on facebook...and BTW...totally no fair...Julie, you look like a supermodel!!

 Happy birthday, Jason!

Birthday parties and dinner get togethers

Rorke's birthday party...they had the cutest invitations that had a picture of Rorke dressed up as Buzz and Woody...so cute!
We had to have a long talk about how the present was for Rorke and to not hover or be upset after he gave it to him.
Birthday hat...we are eternally grateful!

Rorke blowing out the cake...

Coolest Toy Story cake Ever! Lynlee made it herself!

Dinner with friends...Max and I wore our Jeremy Lin pride shirts! Thanks April and Nick for having us over...Spam and Musubi sometime for sure!

Her name is Lily and Max kept calling her 'Willy' and her brother Asher was Ashley...Max is so funny, we made fun of him once about it and he corrected himself and has never said it again...sort of sad, actually. Here Max is doing his impersonation of his favorite Chipmunk...Simon...I know, who likes Simon?

Me and the girls...Kiri and Lia
Chris...after we accidentally left our camera at their house.
Crepes with friends. Eric and Ben
Ben & Hillary...Picture perfect!
Sushi with Firefighter Steve and Ruth
They were gracious and let us order as long as general chicken was included. Here is the dragon roll we ordered. It was such a great time!
This guy sitting next to us kept going on and on about how Broden was the cutest kid ever...and then would look over at Max and say, 'oh, yea, he's cute, too.' Save it!

School's out for the summer...

Even though we don't have any kids in school and it has been quite a while since either Eric or I were in school...we are now really starting to feel the shift in the air as school lets out... Max's play group had their final pot luck for the year (Thanks, Hillary, it was great), water parks are starting to open and the relaxed buzz of summer is quickly intoxicating our senses.

For the first time in a while, it FEELS like summer...It helps to have friends in the know who also happen to be professors...as well as a few sister-in-laws who are teachers...

Lia, Kiri and Max are finally starting to be friends...
'It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Super Max and Super Baby Sisters!' That's what Max said right before I took this shot!

Right before summer, I caught a second wind of ambition almost finished  my bedding/living room make-over project that I'd been working on since I found this fabric in December! Three more projects and I'm done! School's out!!!
