Parades and Fairs

We got to go back to Kemmerer for Fossil Fest. I can certainly understand the adage, 'you can't go home.' I think, essentially, time doesn't stand still.
Gotta love the foot long corn dog and foot long mozzarella stick.
We had front row seats to the Rock Springs parade from Eric's office. It was great fun.

Max loved the Shriner's in 'funny hats.'
He L-O-V-E-S parades, fairs, farmers markets, walks, hikes, anything to get out.

The Sweet Water Fair...I like this picture because there's a woman riding by on a horse...random.
Firefighter Steve teaching Max to explode the fist bump!
Max on a miniature pony.
Max on a miniature John Deere tractor.
Max in a corn pit.

Max made a friend whom he rode all of the rides with.

The bubble machine.

Shoveling manure...gotta love it.

Max feeding the sheep...if  you notice, he was not brave about it.
Stilts...we were not as talented as Jay Christensen on these things.
Max playing the ducky game.

Max and his friend.

Max on the 'Up swing.'

Kiri was pretty beat after the night was through.

Reunion

Last week was our annual family reunion...they arranged for dancing instructors...the idea being that moms and sons, fathers and daughters could dance...Max told me that he did not want to dance with me because his cousin Lucy was his valentine.
He danced the entire night with Lucy...
and his other cousins Nana, Linzie and Lucy...
He was quite bothered when they wanted to dance with their father...
Casey asked me to dance. Sweetest. Boy. Ever. Mended my bruised ego after being rejected by Max!
 Grandma with Kiri.
Oh, we had the time of our lives and I heard Meradith whisper that she owed it all to Jason!
Had to take the preggers shot...don't they make you sick with how good they look?

More proof...

I know some people think Max looks so much like me, but for the most part, other than the fact that he's obviously part Chinese (from me) and definitely part Caucasian (from Eric)...Eric and I didn't get little mini-me's like some of our friends...but, the proof is in the pudding...or potato salad, as it were...this kid is so us sometimes...
Just look at this meal he concocted...
Eric and I promptly made and enjoyed potato salad, pretzel & potato salad hors d'oeuvres...
Gotta love the neat display and color arrangement
His creative play is SoooOOOOOO Eric
His organization he gets from me... he had all of the villains grouped together...as well as all of the 'Chatters'
This kid is funny...every time I tried to take a picture of his toys, I noticed a blurry woody being being shoved in front of my lens...
silly boy...whenever he does something funny, he asks me to take a picture so 'you can blog it.'
Since Max is about to start preschool, we were required to take the Child development screening...to which we had to answer a series of questions, one of which is Max's ethnicity. Growing up I distinctly remember a multi-ethnicity option, not so with this screen...so, I've been contemplating what to answer...if it were based on food preferences, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment, he's always stealing my seaweed salads, my stinky tofu, crunchy fish, rice, noodles, steamed eggs, lychee ice cream, boba drinks, steamed meat buns, mango, sticky rice, etc.

...one thing he definitely did NOT get from me or Eric is his love of chocolate. Max loves himself some chocolate....
